How to make a thank-you video for your wedding guests from your photos

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Pick two or three of your favourite wedding photos, add them in Rift, and tell Spark, Rift's video agent, the moment, such as the two of you walking out under confetti. Spark plans the shot and shows a Draft. Tap Make and you get a thank-you video of up to 15 seconds to send to your guests.

Thank-you cards take weeks. A short video sent the week after the wedding feels warm and personal, and you already have the photos. For a video of an older wedding picture, see making an old wedding photo move.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add the photos. Pick your best ones in Spark.
  2. Describe the moment in one line.
  3. Check the Draft. Ask for a different light or place.
  4. Make. Tap Make. The price is shown on the Make button before you tap.
  5. Send from your Library to your guests.

Tips

Questions people ask

Can I put my guests in it?

Only with their OK. Add each guest as a character from their photo and say where they stand.

Can I add "Thank you" on the video?

Text over the video isn't in the app yet. Add your thanks in the message you send with it.

Can I use an old wedding photo?

Yes. A clear photo gives the best result, even if it is from years ago.

Can I make a different one for family?

Yes. Ask Spark for a new version with a different scene.
