Add a photo of each family member, even if they live in different places, and tell Spark the Christmas scene. Spark puts everyone around one tree in a video of up to 15 seconds.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A clear photo of each person, face to camera. Old and new photos both work.
- A scene in mind: a living room, a snowy porch, a cabin.
- Optional: a photo of your own tree or room if you want it in the video.
Step by step
- Open Rift and describe the card. For example: everyone around a lit tree, snow falling outside.
- Add the photos. Pick each person from your camera roll. For people you will use again, save them as characters from a few photos.
- Say who stands where. One line is enough: grandma in the armchair, kids by the tree.
- Check the Draft. Spark shows the plan. Ask for a change if the room or the mood is off.
- Make. Tap Make, leave the app if you like, and find the card in your Library. Share it in a message or a group chat.
Lines to try with Spark
- “All five of us around the Christmas tree, warm lights, snow at the window.”
- “My family on the porch in matching red jumpers, snow falling, waving at the camera.”
- “Me, my mum and my sister baking cookies in a bright kitchen, flour in the air.”
- “Our dog in a Santa hat on the sofa, the family laughing around him.”
- “My grandparents and cousins at one long dinner table, candles glowing.”
Tips for a card people keep
- Pick one room. A tree, a table or a porch. Avoid listing five places.
- Warm light. Say “candlelight” or “warm lamps” for a cosy look.
- Check faces. Photos with sunglasses or heavy filters match less well.
- Keep the group modest. Four to six people read clearly in one shot.
- Make it early. Send it before the week of 25 December, when everyone is busy.
Other cards
The same steps work for a birthday card, a wedding thank-you or a new baby announcement. For the bigger version of this idea, see how to make a family scene video from photos.
