How to put grandparents and grandkids in one video from separate photos

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a photo of each grandparent and grandchild to Rift and tell Spark the scene, such as everyone in a garden having a picnic. Spark brings the separate photos into one place and sets up a Draft with the price on the Make button. Tap Make and you get a video of up to 15 seconds. Rift is an iPhone app.

Add a photo of each grandparent and grandchild, and Spark puts them in one place, even when they live far apart.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Tell Spark the moment. Say who is there and what they are doing.
  2. Add the photos. Pick each person from your camera roll.
  3. Check the Draft. Reply to change places, ages or the order of people.
  4. Make. Tap Make, and leave the app if you like.
  5. Send it. Find the video in your Library and share it with the family.

Questions people ask

Do the photos need to be taken together?

No. Photos from different places and different years work.

Can I use an old photo of a grandparent?

Yes. A clear old photo works if the face is visible. Restore it first if it is faded.

Can I add more than one grandparent?

Yes. Add a photo of each person and name them to Spark, for example 'Grandma on the left, Grandpa in the middle'.

Can the video be a surprise for them?

Yes. Make it, then show or send it. The video is yours.

Can I choose the setting?

Yes. Tell Spark the place, such as a garden, a kitchen or a park, and check the Draft.
