Music, captions and voice are not in the app yet. This page explains the idea and what you can do today.
What is planned
A finished video often needs three more things: sound, words on screen and sometimes a voice. The idea is that Spark could help with all three, so that a video comes out ready to post and not just ready to edit. We want that to work the way the rest of Rift does: you say it, Spark plans it, you check the Draft, you Make.
Not in the app yet
Music, captions, titles, voice and lip-sync are not in Rift today, and we are not giving a date. Rift makes the video, up to 15 seconds. This page is marked “upcoming” so that nobody mistakes it for something you can use now.
What to do today
Add sound and words in the app where you post. It takes a minute and often works better there.
- Make the video in Rift. Share a clip in, or tell Spark what you want, and tap Make.
- Open your Library. Save or share the finished video to your post.
- Add music or a trend’s sound in the posting app. TikTok, Instagram and YouTube each have a sound picker. Using the official sound keeps your video on the trend page.
- Add captions there too. Each app can add captions to a post, and you can edit them before you publish.
- Record a voice-over in the same place. Most posting apps let you add one.
Tips
- Leave room for text. When you ask Spark for a video you plan to caption, say “keep the top clear” so words fit.
- Pick the sound first. If you know the sound, you can ask Spark to match the beat.
- Keep videos short. Up to 15 seconds fits the length most sounds run.
Why add them where you post
Posting apps know their own sounds and caption styles, and they keep your video attached to the trend page when you use the official sound. That is the reason we tell you to add them there even once Rift can do it: some sounds only work where they live. If you want a video with its own voice or music from Rift, that is what this page describes, and it is not here yet.
What stays the same
When these ship, they will follow the same rules as everything in Rift: Spark shows a Draft first, the price is on the Make button, and Stop works at any time. Until then, Rift makes the video, and you add the sound.
