How to make a handmade jewellery video from one photo

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a clear photo of your piece in Rift and tell Spark, Rift's video agent, the motion, such as a slow turn as light catches the stone. Check the Draft, tap Make, and you get a video of up to 15 seconds for your shop, your Instagram or your craft fair table.

Small pieces are hard to film, since a phone camera struggles with fine detail. A photo and a line of words let you show how a piece catches the light.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add your photo in Rift.
  2. Tell Spark the motion: a slow turn, a glint, a hand lifting it.
  3. Check the Draft for shape, stone and chain.
  4. Tap Make after seeing the price.
  5. Post from your Library to your listing.

Tips

For shop listings, see a product video for an Etsy listing from one photo. For watches and rings, see jewellery and watch video from a photo.

Questions people ask

Will it keep my design the same?

Ask Spark to keep the piece exactly as in the photo and check the Draft before you Make.

Can I show it on a person?

Yes, with a model's OK. Add their photo and say where the piece sits.

Can the video show the price?

Text over video isn't in the app yet. Put the price in the listing or post.

Can I make one for every piece?

Yes. Save a Draft as a format and run it again with each new photo.
