Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a clear photo of your house to Rift and tell Spark to start close on the front door, then pull back through the street, the town and the country to the whole Earth. Spark shows a Draft with the price on the Make button. Tap Make and you get a zoom-out video of up to 15 seconds.

Add one photo of your house and Spark starts on the front door, then pulls back through the street, town and country until the whole Earth shows. You get a zoom-out video of up to 15 seconds.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add the photo to Rift.
  2. Describe the pull-back. Say where it starts and where it ends.
  3. Check the Draft. Spark plans the shots. The price is on the Make button.
  4. Tap Make. You can leave the app and Spark will tell you when it is ready.
  5. Adjust. If it climbs too slowly, ask for a quicker pull, then Make again.

Questions people ask

Can I zoom in instead of out?

Yes. Say 'start from space and fall in to my front door'.

Does it use real satellite images?

No. The pull-back is made to look the part. It is not a map of your real surroundings.

How far does the pull-back go?

From the front door through the street, the town and the country to the whole Earth, as you describe it.

Can I do my car, my school or my town?

Yes. Any place or object with a clear shape in the photo works.

Can I stop at the town instead of the whole Earth?

Yes. Say where the pull-back should end, such as the street or the town.
