How to make an anniversary video from your old couple photos

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Pick a photo from early on, your first trip, first date or wedding day, and add it in Rift. Tell Spark, Rift's video agent, what should happen: 'we turn to each other and laugh, same café'. Or add separate photos and put the two of you somewhere new. Tap Make for a video up to 15 seconds and send it, or post it on the day.

Add a photo from early in your relationship and tell Spark what should happen in it, like the two of you turning and laughing. You get a moving version of up to 15 seconds to send on the day.

Ideas

Step by step

  1. Add the photo, or a photo of each of you.
  2. Say the moment in one line.
  3. Check the Draft and tap Make.
  4. Send it before dinner.

Tips

Questions people ask

Can I use a blurry old photo?

Use the clearest one you have. Ask Spark to restore it first if it's faded or small.

Can it be my grandparents' anniversary?

Yes. Their wedding photo coming to life is a lovely gift. Ask the family before posting.

Can we be somewhere we haven't been?

Yes. "The two of us in Lisbon on a tram" works with a photo of each of you.

Can I make a then-and-now?

Make two videos, one from an old photo and one from a recent one, and post them together.
