Instagram AI label explained: what "AI info" means

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Instagram shows an AI label, called AI info, on some posts to tell viewers AI was involved. Meta adds it when it detects industry-standard signals that a file was made with AI, or when you disclose it yourself as you post. If you post a clip from Rift, where Spark, Rift's video agent, builds it from your photos, check the app's current rules and use any label option it offers.

You’ll see a small line near the name on some Instagram posts. Here is what it means and how to deal with it.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Make the video in Rift: tell Spark, check the Draft, tap Make.
  2. Save it from Library to your camera roll.
  3. Start a Reel in Instagram and choose it.
  4. Look in the post settings for an AI label option and use it when it applies.
  5. Post.
