How to post an AI video without losing quality

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Apps squeeze every upload, so a clip can look softer after posting. Keep the original file, post it straight from your camera roll, avoid screen recordings and extra edits, and keep it short. In Rift, find the finished video in your Library, save it once and post that file. Spark, Rift's video agent, makes the clip up to 15 seconds, so there's less to compress.

Most blur happens after your clip leaves Rift, not inside it. A few habits keep it as sharp as the platform allows.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Open Library and pick the video.
  2. Save it to your camera roll once.
  3. Open the platform’s app and choose that file.
  4. Skip extra filters and re-edits.
  5. Post and let the upload finish before you leave the screen.

Tips

Questions people ask

Why does my video look blurry after posting?

Platforms compress uploads to save space. Posting the original file keeps as much detail as they allow.

Should I screen record the video?

No. A recording adds another round of compression. Save the original from Library instead.

Does Wi-Fi matter?

A weak connection can make an upload fail. A stable one helps it finish cleanly.

Can Rift post for me?

Not in the app yet. Save from Library, then post from the platform's app.
