How to remake a trend with a ready-made character instead of yourself

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Share the trend into Rift and, when Spark, Rift's video agent, asks who should star, pick a Rift character instead of adding your photo, or describe one: 'a tall grandma in a tracksuit'. Spark keeps the trend's moves, camera and timing with the character in it. Check the Draft and tap Make for a video up to 15 seconds, no selfie needed.

Not everyone wants their face on their page. A Rift character lets you join every trend without being in it, and AI motion transfer on iPhone explains how the moves carry over.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Share the trend into Rift.
  2. Pick who stars: “Use a Rift character”, a character you saved, or a description.
  3. Say what to keep: “same moves, same street”.
  4. Check the Draft and tap Make.
  5. Save the character if you made a new one, so your page has a regular.
