How to show a piece of furniture in a room with a video from photos

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a photo of your piece of furniture and, if you have one, a photo of the room to Rift. Tell Spark where it goes and how the camera moves, such as a slow push-in on the armchair by a window in warm light. Check the Draft and tap Make. You get a video of up to 15 seconds in your Library.

Two photos and a line show a piece of furniture in a room: the armchair by a window, the table with plates on it, the lamp lit in the evening.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add the photos. Open Rift and add the piece and the room.
  2. Tell Spark where it sits. “By the window, left of the bookshelf.”
  3. Check the Draft. Spark shows the shots and what stays the same.
  4. Make. Tap Make and see the price on the button first.
  5. Save and post. The video is in your Library.

Beyond furniture

Rugs, plants, mirrors, bedding and wall art follow the same steps.

Questions people ask

Will the furniture match my real piece?

Spark copies what the photo shows. A sharp, front or three-quarter photo of the whole piece gives the closest match.

Can I use a photo of my customer's room?

Only with their say. Use your own room or a described one otherwise.

Is this a true record of how it will look?

No. It is a styled view, so give real sizes and colours in the listing.

Can I show two pieces together?

Yes. Add both photos and say how they sit.

Can I show the same piece in different rooms?

Yes. Add a different room photo, or describe the room to Spark, and check the Draft each time.
