A remake looks real mostly because of the clip and photo you start with, so the fixes below start there. If you are new to remakes, start with what a trend remake is.
Start with real inputs
- An unfiltered photo. Filters make skin waxy and the video copies it.
- Daylight on your face. Even, soft light carries detail.
- A sharp, steady clip. Blur and shake turn into smears.
Match the light
A sunny-day selfie in a nightclub clip looks pasted. Use a photo with similar light, or ask Spark to “match the light of the clip”.
Ask for natural
- “Natural light, no glossy look.”
- “Handheld camera, a little shake.”
- “A bit of film grain.”
- “Real skin texture.”
Keep it simple
Fewer people, fewer props, one action. Complex scenes have more places to go wrong.
In Rift
- Share the clip and add your photo.
- Tell Spark: “Keep it natural, handheld, no glossy look.”
- Check the Draft and tap Make.
