When a remake looks like your cousin instead of you, the cause is usually the photo or the clip you started with. Change one thing at a time using the fixes below. The basics of remaking a trend with you in it are in how to put yourself in a TikTok trend.
1. The photo
- Filters: beauty and face filters change your features, and the result copies them.
- Light: a dark or harshly lit photo hides your features.
- Angle: a selfie from below or a tilted head distorts your face.
- Age: a photo from five years ago gives five-years-ago you.
Fix: a recent, unfiltered photo, face to camera, eye level, in daylight.
2. Only one angle
A single front photo has to guess your profile.
Fix: save yourself as a character from two or three photos: front, three-quarter, full body.
3. The clip
- Faces far from the camera, blurred or turned away carry little detail.
Fix: pick clips where the face is clear and large, or ask for “just the part where she faces the camera”.
4. Say what’s off
In Rift, tell Spark plainly: “my nose is narrower”, “I have a beard”, “with my glasses”, “my hair is curlier”. It updates the Draft; check it before you Make.
