How to do the GRWM outfit transition without filming it

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a photo of yourself to Rift, add photos of two outfits, and tell Spark you want a hard cut from the first look to the second. Spark plans the shots and shows a Draft with the price on the Make button. Tap Make and you get an outfit transition of up to 15 seconds in Library.

The get-ready-with-me transition is a hard cut: you stand in one outfit, there is a snap, and you are in another. Filming it means a tripod, timing and a lot of retakes. In Rift, you set it up with photos.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add your photo and the outfit photos.
  2. Describe the cut. Say the first look, the second look and how the change happens.
  3. Check the Draft. Spark plans the shots. The price is on the Make button.
  4. Tap Make. You can leave the app and come back.
  5. Watch the cut in Library and ask Spark to adjust the timing if it feels slow.

Questions people ask

What is a GRWM transition?

It is a get-ready-with-me video where you change outfits in a hard cut or a quick spin, so the look jumps from casual to dressed up.

Do I need photos of the clothes?

They help. You can also describe the outfit in words.

Can I do more than two outfits?

Yes, but keep it to two or three in 15 seconds so each look lands.

Can I keep the same pose in both outfits?

Yes. The pose stays and the clothes change. Say 'same pose, new outfit' to Spark.

Can I use a photo from a shop?

Yes. Use a clear picture of the item. See the try-on guide linked below.
