Add your before and tell Spark the after. Rift matches the angle, the pose and the light, so the reveal lands cleanly.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- A before: a photo or a short clip of you, your room, your car or your dog, in an honest, ordinary state.
- A clear idea of the after, in one sentence.
Step by step
- Pick your before. Add the photo or clip from your camera roll. Stand square to the camera with good light so the change is easy to read.
- Tell Spark it’s a reveal. Say what the before-and-after should show. Spark runs the format on your own clip and keeps the framing the same on both sides.
- Name the change. One line is enough: the hair, the outfit, the room, the car wash. Spark shows a Draft first.
- Make. Check the Draft, then tap Make. The price is on the button before you tap, and you can Stop at any time.
- Save and post. Your reveal lands in Library. Post it where you like and add your words there.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Before and after: me in my gym clothes, then dressed for a wedding.”
- “Same garage, first the mess, then the clean build.”
- “My dog after a bath, fluffy reveal at the end.”
- “Messy desk to clean setup, keep the same camera angle.”
- “Plain white trainers, then the custom pair.”
Tips
- Keep the before honest and the framing locked. Same distance, same angle, same height. A reveal reads best when only one thing moves.
- Use daylight. Window light on the before and the after avoids a jump in colour that looks like a trick.
- Make the change obvious. A subtle tweak disappears on a phone screen. Pick one clear change, not five.
- Plan your words before you post. The funniest glow-ups lean on the joke. A self-roast such as “me on a Monday vs me with a plan” does half the job, and it is quick to type in the app you post to.
- Cut your before short. Two or three seconds is plenty. The reveal is the point.
Beyond selfies
A glow-up is a format, not a face. Try a tired sofa and a restaged living room, a muddy bike and a clean one, a bare plate and a styled one for a small food business. Anything with a clear before can have a satisfying after.
