Most face swap apps paste a face onto someone else’s head. It works in a close-up and looks odd everywhere else. Rift replaces the whole person, so your face, hair and build come through together. To see how this differs from copying someone’s moves, read motion transfer vs face swap.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- The video, from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or your camera roll.
- A clear photo of you. A full-body photo too, for full-body clips.
Step by step
- Share the video into Rift.
- Add your photo, or pick yourself if you’re saved as a character.
- Say who you replace: “the one in the white top”.
- Keep or change the outfit: “keep her outfit” or “in my black jacket”.
- Check the Draft and tap Make.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Put me in place of the guy on the left, keep his suit.”
- “Swap the dancer for me, same moves.”
- “Me instead of the woman at the café table, same reaction.”
- “Swap both people: me on the left, Jay on the right.”
Tips
- Match the angle. A clip shot from the side swaps better from a photo that shows your profile too; save a character from two or three photos.
- One clear person in frame is the easiest start.
- No filters on your photo. The swap copies them.
