How to make an AI baby dance video from a photo

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add one clear photo of the baby to Rift, or share a dance clip you like and add the photo, then tell Spark the dance. Spark plans the shots and shows a Draft with the price on the Make button. Tap Make and the baby dances for up to 15 seconds, saved in your Library. Use photos of your own family.

You don’t film anything: you need one good photo of the baby and a dance in mind. Share a dance clip or describe the moves, and Spark makes the baby dance in a video of up to 15 seconds.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add the photo. Open Rift and pick it from your camera roll. If you have a dance clip you like, tap Share on it and choose Rift, then add the photo.
  2. Tell Spark the dance. One line is enough.
  3. Check the Draft. Spark plans the shots and shows a Draft. The price is on the Make button, so you decide first.
  4. Make. Tap Make. You can leave the app, and Spark tells you when it is ready.
  5. Find it in Library. Save it, post it, or ask Spark for a gentler version and Make again.

Questions people ask

Can I use a photo of my own baby?

Yes, that is the best use. Use photos of children you are allowed to share, such as your own, and keep the video among people you chose.

Does the baby need to be facing the camera?

A face turned toward the camera works best. A side view can work, but the dance may look less like your child.

Can I pick the dance?

Yes. Share a dance clip into Rift and Spark follows its moves, or describe a simple one such as a bounce and a wave.

Will it have sound?

The video is silent. Add a song in the app you post to.

Can the baby dance with a parent?

Yes, with the parent's OK. Add a photo of the parent too and say who stands where.
