A movie scene is mostly three things: a camera that moves, weather you can feel and light that sets a mood. One good photo is enough to start all three.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- One sharp photo with depth: a street, a room, a person by a window.
- A mood in mind: tense, cosy, lonely, grand.
Step by step
- Add the photo in Rift.
- Pick the camera move: slow push in, pan, orbit or pull back.
- Add the weather and light in the same line.
- Check the Draft. The price is shown on the Make button before you tap, then tap Make.
- Ask for another version with one change if the mood is off.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Slow push in on her face at the window, rain on the glass, grey light.”
- “Pull back from my car in the driveway, fog rolling over the street, headlights glowing.”
- “Orbit around my dog on the porch at golden hour, dust in the air.”
- “A slow pan across our kitchen, steam from the kettle, snow falling outside.”
- “Push toward the old lighthouse in my photo, a storm building, waves crashing.”
Tips
- Move slowly. A slow move reads as a movie. A fast one reads as shaky.
- One weather per shot. Rain or fog, not both.
- Use depth. A foreground, a middle and a far background help the move.
- Keep it short. Ten seconds of mood beats fifteen of everything.
