How to make a school or PTA fundraiser video for parents

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a photo of your school hall, field or stall in Rift and tell Spark, Rift's video agent, the scene, such as bunting fluttering over a bake sale table. Check the Draft, tap Make, and you get a video of up to 15 seconds for your parents' group. Get a parent's OK before any child appears.

Add a photo of your school hall, field or stall and Spark builds a short video for the parents’ group chat, easy to see and easy to forward.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Add your photo in Rift.
  2. Tell Spark the scene and the mood: busy, sunny, festive.
  3. Check the Draft and keep the place as it is.
  4. Tap Make after seeing the price.
  5. Post from your Library into the parents’ group.

Tips

For the first day, see a back to school first day video. For a class, see a teacher welcome video for your class.

Questions people ask

Can children be in the video?

Only with a parent or guardian's OK. Many schools use the field, the hall and the bake table instead.

Can the video show the date and goal?

Text over video isn't in the app yet. Put them in the post or newsletter.

Can I make one for each event?

Yes. Save a Draft as a format and run it again with a new photo.

Can I use the school logo?

Spark may change a logo. Leave it out of the video and add it in the post.
