Share the video, add a photo of who should be in it, and Spark swaps only that person and leaves the rest alone. The same works for an outfit, a car or a product. Not sure how this differs from a plain face swap? Read motion transfer vs face swap.
What you need
- An iPhone with Rift.
- The video you want to change. It can be your own or one you want to remake.
- A photo of the replacement: a person’s face, an outfit, a car or a product on a plain background.
Step by step
- Choose the video. Pick one where the thing to swap is clear and in view for most of the clip.
- Share it into Rift. Tap Share, then Rift, or add the clip from your camera roll.
- Add the replacement photo. A face for a person, a full photo of the outfit, car or product.
- Say what to swap. “Replace the man in the grey coat with me” or “Swap the red bag for my brand’s bag”.
- Check and Make. Review the Draft and the price on the Make button, tap Make, and find the result in your Library.
Lines to try with Spark
- “Replace the runner in front with me, keep everything else.”
- “Swap the cat on the sofa for my rescue dog.”
- “Put my linen shirt on the guy talking, same walk.”
- “Change the silver hatchback to my blue pickup.”
- “Swap the bottle for my candle, same table and light.”
Tips
- Pick clips where the target stays in frame. A subject that leaves and returns is harder to track.
- Photograph products straight on. Even light and a plain backdrop help Spark get the shape and label right.
- Match scale. A tall person replacing a short one, or a large car replacing a small one, can look odd. Choose similar sizes.
- Name the thing, not just the colour. “The man in the grey coat” is clearer than “that guy”.
- Leave the sound for later. Rift makes a silent video. Add music or a voiceover in the app you post to.
Beyond people
This is a handy tool for small sellers: film one nice product shot, then swap in each item you sell. It is also useful for fashion: one walking clip, many outfits.
