How to put yourself on stage at a concert in a video

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Share a concert or stage clip into Rift, add one clear photo of yourself, and tell Spark you are the performer. Spark keeps the stage, lights and crowd, plans the shots and shows a Draft. Tap Make and you get a silent clip of up to 15 seconds. Add a song in the app you post to.

Share a stage clip you like and add a photo of you, and Spark puts you on that stage without a venue or a band.

What you need

Step by step

  1. Share the clip. In the app where you saw it, tap Share and choose Rift. Or add it from your camera roll.
  2. Add your photo. Spark asks for one.
  3. Tell Spark the role. Say who you replace and what to keep.
  4. Check the Draft. The price is on the Make button.
  5. Tap Make. The silent clip lands in Library.

Questions people ask

Can I be the whole band?

Yes. Add a photo for each member and say who plays what.

Will it have sound?

No. The video is silent. Add the song in the app you post to.

Does my mouth move with the song?

Lip-sync is not in Rift yet, so keep shots wide or from behind.

Can I use my own concert clip?

Yes. Any clip from your camera roll works.

Can I change the stage or the crowd?

Yes. Tell Spark what to change, such as a smaller club stage, and check the Draft before you tap Make.
