How to make a teaser video for a product launch

Updated · Reviewed by The Rift team

Short answer

Add a clear photo of the new product in Rift and tell Spark, Rift's video agent, how much to reveal: 'dark studio, a slow light sweep shows only the edge of the bottle, then black'. Spark keeps the product as it is and controls the light. Tap Make for a teaser up to 15 seconds, then make a fuller reveal for launch day.

A teaser shows only part of your product so people want the launch. Add a photo of it and tell Spark how much to reveal.

Tips

Questions people ask

How much should a teaser show?

Less than you think. An edge, a colour or a shape, then the date in your post.

Can I make the full reveal too?

Yes. Use the same photo with "full reveal, slow turn, bright light" for launch day.

Can I keep the product secret from Rift?

Rift asks after your first video whether it may learn from your videos, and the answer is off until you say yes.

Can I reuse the setup for the next launch?

Save the Draft as a format and run it with the next product photo.
